Glenelg Foreshore Playspace

WAX Design have delivered a premier foreshore destination with the Glenelg Playspace. It reflects the aspirations being developed by the City of Holdfast Bay for play, open space and recreation; a place where individuals can play, socialise and connect to their coastal environment.

Coastal references of motion, waves and erosion are reflected in the precast blade walls which incorporate challenging play through a giant slide, net dome, climbing walls and tunnel matrix.
Inspiration for the tactile and sensory play of the sand pit is the intertidal nature of Mangroves, featuring interactive water play and timber log climbs surrounded by a sweeping timber boardwalk and seating.
The play extends towards the foreshore with a carousel, hammock, in-ground trampolines and sunken hides surrounded by coastal plantings and shade trees.
