Ligertwood-Napier Plaza Shade Structures

The Ligertwood-Napier Plaza is an iconic space within the North Terrace precinct. WAX Design in association with JPE were engaged to prepare urban design concepts that would reinvigorate this important open space and at the same time respect the architectural heritage of the site.

The need for shade, shelter and the opportunity for congregation were critical drivers for the project. The result was a sculptural urban form that responded to the plaza’s sense of place and the energy of the campus community. A structure that combines both history and the future of the University of Adelaide and the Ligertwood-Napier Plaza.
