Port Lincoln Special School Open for Play
We were delighted to attend the official opening of the Port Lincoln Special School playspace! It was amazing to see the broader community come together to experience first-hand the excitement of the students playing in and enjoying their new open spaces. The new playspace has maximised the children’s independence, sensory regulation, interaction with their peers and increased accessibility.
After the formalities were complete, we were able to enjoy a fantastic market stall organised by the students, in conjunction with their SACE learning, to raise funds for further projects such as a new sensory garden.
From principal Matt Syme: “When all is said and done, this playground will be, and is, for everyone. It symbolises the need for, and benefits of, intelligent and inclusive design. We hope that it serves as a beacon for others to follow when planning their spaces and congratulate Port Lincoln City Council for engaging WAX Design and Elton Landscapes”.
Thank you and congratulations to the School and their Governing Council, the City of Port Lincoln and Elton Landscapes for your support and exceptional work!
