Whitefriars Catholic School Courtyard

Stage 2A is the first realised component of the Whitefriars Catholic School Masterplan, developed in collaboration with Detail Studio. The project transforms an underutilised area of the campus into flexible outdoor spaces for learning, performance and social connection.

A playful new canopy extends the Performing Arts learning spaces outdoors, creating an adaptable setting for performance, teaching and gathering. Tiered seating forms an amphitheatre for presentations and small events, while also supporting everyday use during break times and outdoor classes.

New planting, colour and materials bring energy and identity to the space, strengthening the connection between landscape and built form. The result is a vibrant, flexible environment that supports creative learning and maximises the potential of the school’s outdoor spaces.
