Mainstreet SA Conference
It was a pleasure to be a part of this year’s Mainstreet SA Conference. With an exceptional lineup of speakers, we learned about a wide range of topics essential to mainstreet and urban environments.
WAX Director and guest speaker Warwick Keates explored the essential elements necessary to create, regenerate and renew country streetscapes, using projects across South Australia from Willunga to Port Lincoln.
Country towns and their public realms, streets, lanes and footpaths are critical infrastructure. Not just for transport and movement but as social spaces, places promoting amenity, nature and well-being, as well as repositories for a town’s history and culture.
Using themes of Community, Character, Capacity and Country, Warwick shared his experience of working with communities and collaboratively designing country streetscapes.
Thank you to Mainstreet SA and co-hosts City of Unley and City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, supporting partners and sponsors for hosting an incredible event.
