Concordia College & St John’s Campus
The new gymnasium at Concordia College is a multi-purpose physical education, sporting and school function facility. The surrounding landscape has been designed to directly connect the gym to the existing oval adjacent, and retain the existing significant Eucalypts between the two. The trees now shade and frame the courtyard entrance and tiered amphitheatre seating to the external building facade, providing informal viewing to the sports and activation beyond.
The street character has been enhanced with a new avenue of trees and a ‘shared use’ paved plaza and parking precinct to provide flexibility for larger courtyard gatherings and broader school events. Seating and congregation nodes along with bike parking enable effective before and after school transitions and commuting.
The St John’s ELC and Junior School upgrade provides a series of outdoor learning, socialising and play courtyards with a range of challenges, risk benefit and innovative play experiences for a variety of energetic young students. This is complimented with nature based play opportunities, quiet spaces for reflection and learning outdoors, along with growing, nurturing and making.
