Profile
I joined the WAX Design team in 2017, bringing with me a formal education in commerce and media as well as a wealth of experience in marketing. After six years working on campaigns for a precious metal and jewellery company, I was looking for a change that better suited my shared responsibilities of work and raising a growing young family.
Stepping into the role of Studio & Marketing Manager at WAX was exciting as the field of landscape architecture was new to me. On any given day I do a mixture of tasks, from studio management and administration to marketing. I manage our social media campaigns, the website, our quarterly newsletter and the WAX blog. The newsletter, in particular, gives me a chance to communicate more in-depth pieces about our philosophies, consultative approach and the research we conduct throughout our projects. I’m also responsible for coordinating photography and creating project profiles for our project library. These documents double as a valuable marketing tool and important archival asset for the future. I love that my work is so varied. Everyone at WAX has their unique strengths but we also all do a little bit of everything; no one is wearing only one hat.
Working at WAX has really opened my eyes as to how public spaces are designed. I no longer walk down the street and see only pavers and plants. Now, I recognise the thought it takes to produce places of meaning, that serve a purpose and people genuinely want to occupy. I regularly take my kids to a number of our play spaces too, so I often find myself testing our architect’s ideas first-hand.
