New life for old playground

It’s great to see that the “Tuna Boat” at the old Andrew Small playground in Port Lincoln is setting sail to a new home!

As part of the new Foreshore Redevelopment & Playspace Project the old playground is currently being removed. However, one piece of equipment the “Tuna Boat” will continue to live on and be re-purposed in a playground overseas.

The ‘Rotary Overseas Recycled Playgrounds’ initiative sees Rotary Clubs around Australia partnering with local councils to save disused, safe and re-usable pieces of playground equipment from landfill and re-purpose it for children in developing countries.
