Profile
As a Landscape Architect at WAX, I’m focused on learning best practice outcomes, sharpening my skills, and growing under the guidance of the experienced team.
Having grown up between the Riverland and the southern Fleurieu Peninsula, I’ve always been surrounded by landscapes with rich histories, cultures and strong regional identities. A defining influence was the completion of the Willunga Mainstreet project while I was finishing school. Spending time there opened my eyes to the power of public spaces, sparking an interest in pursuing a career in landscape architecture.
My background as a second-generation almond grower and orchard hand instilled a deep respect for our diverse and sometimes harsh climate. A lifelong interest in learning what can grow where and under what conditions was a part of the journey that led me to complete a Master of Landscape Architecture alongside a Master of Architecture.
I am driven by a belief in creating meaningful connections through design and enjoy approaching this through storytelling. I strive to “think global, act local” in every design. These values are informed both by my professional journey and my early experience on the family farm, where I developed an appreciation for resilient landscapes and the importance of water as a precious resource.
Outside of work, I enjoy creating with my hands, whether through playing piano and guitar, composing music, painting, fishing, or experimenting with old knot techniques and gardening.
