Virginia Active Branding
The project began as a conversation about activating the new community of Virginia Grove through physical fitness, recreation and play.
The original brief called for the selection and installation of various pieces of equipment to respond to growing demands in the local community for recreation and fitness facilities. The intent was to promote physical activity in a suburb that suffers from high levels of obesity and other health-related issues.
The design of the letters caters for different fitness levels from beginners to experienced users. The rubber softfall around the project provides an all-accessible surface, while the arrangement and shape of the letters creates a defined shoreline that enables people with visual impairment to use the equipment.
